BBC News: Welsh UFO sightings revealed in latest government files

Details of UFO sightings across Wales in the last 25 years are revealed in files made public by the Ministry of Defence.

A UFO spotted over St Tudwal's Islands in the Llyn Peninsula in Gwynedd and a "slow-moving disc" seen at a festival in Llanfyllin, Powys, are included.

The 34 files released by the National Archives cover 1985 to 2007.

Accounts of sightings over Anglesey, Denbighshire, Cardiff and Swansea are also detailed.

BBC News: Hacker Gary McKinnon's mother welcomes Obama comments

The mother of computer hacker Gary McKinnon has welcomed comments by President Barack Obama about her son's possible extradition to the US.

Janis Sharp, who is fighting to keep her son in the UK, described the president's words as "very positive".

Mr Obama, who is on a state visit to the UK, said he would "respect" the British legal process.

Glasgow-born Mr McKinnon, who has Asperger's syndrome, is accused of hacking US military computer systems.

Telegraph: Australias UFO files mysteriously disappear

The department of defence has been unable to find a host of records relating to UFO sightings that were collected over several decades.

The disappearance of the documents came to light when the military received a freedom of information (FOI) request from the Sydney Morning Herald Newspaper asking for any documents that mentioned sightings of UFOs or “extraterrestrial organisms” in Australia.

E.T. PHONED home almost 30 years ago, but Welsh households are still phoning the police with details of more UFO sightings in Wales.

South Wales Police have released details of reported UFO sightings it has received from homeowners.

A total of 16 reports of UFOs were made to the police force between the February 2007 and January of this year.

One caller reported seeing a large UFO emitting beams light into the Aberfan night sky, with several smaller crafts circling it. Another person saw four unidentified flying objects soar past two aeroplanes flying above to the Ford engine plant in Bridgend.

And one witness at Maerdy mountain saw a large, grey orb shoot past the moon.

It seems to be world centre for UFO videos, but this the image is extraordinarily clear.

UFO enthusiast Michael Lee Hill, of Eastlake, has recorded many images of something mysterious over Lake Erie, Ohio.

He has just released new footage filmed along the lakefront that he says is his best so far.

Mr Hill said: 'It was probably one of the craziest nights of activity I've ever experienced.'

A bizarre memo that appears to prove that aliens did land in New Mexico prior to 1950 has been published by the FBI.

The bureau has made thousands of files available in a new online resource called The Vault.

Among them is a memo to the director from Guy Hottel, the special agent in charge of the Washington field office in 1950.

In the memo, whose subject line is 'Flying Saucers', Agent Hottel reveals that an Air Force investigator had stated that 'three so-called flying saucers had been recovered in New Mexico'.

The investigator gave the information to a special agent, he said. The FBI has censored both the agent and the investigator's identity.

BBC News: UFO files reveal 'Rendlesham incident' papers missing

Intelligence papers on a reported UFO sighting known as the "Rendlesham incident" have gone missing, files from the National Archives reveal.

The missing files relate to a report of mysterious lights from US servicemen at RAF Woodbridge in Suffolk in 1980.

The disappearance came to light with the release of 8,000 previously classified documents on UFOs.

Officials found a "huge" gap where defence intelligence files relating to the case should be, the papers show.
