BBC News: Hacker Gary McKinnon's mother welcomes Obama comments

The mother of computer hacker Gary McKinnon has welcomed comments by President Barack Obama about her son's possible extradition to the US.

Janis Sharp, who is fighting to keep her son in the UK, described the president's words as "very positive".

Mr Obama, who is on a state visit to the UK, said he would "respect" the British legal process.

Glasgow-born Mr McKinnon, who has Asperger's syndrome, is accused of hacking US military computer systems.

The Inquirer: No leniency for Gary McKinnon

UFO ENTHUSIAST Gary McKinnon is unlikely to be spared extradition, according to the US Attorney General.

Eric Holder has insisted that McKinnon face trial in a US court, and is quoted in the Daily Mail saying that the country will "take all of the necessary steps" to have him packed abroad and "held accountable for the crimes that he committed". Presumably that means life in prison for McKinnon.

‘UFO hacker’ Gary McKinnon’s mum demands meeting with Nick Clegg

Janis Sharp and her son Gary McKinnon‘UFO hacker’ Gary McKinnon’s mother Janis Sharp has called on senior Lib Dems, including Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, to honour pre-election pledges to stop his extradition.

Mr McKinnon, 45, who suffers from Asperger’s syndrome, is wanted in the US for allegedly hacking into the Pentagon and NASA’s computers in search of evidence of UFOs 10 years ago.

Mrs Sharp, from Brookmans Park, told the WHT: “I’ve written to him [Nick Clegg] at his constituency and at Parliament to ask for a meeting with him.

“It was a week ago now so he’s obviously got these letters.”

She added: “I’m hoping he’ll respond because he stood with me as well as Chris Huhne, Danny Alexander and Alistair Carmichael.

“They all said if they got into power Gary wouldn’t be going anywhere.”

Deputy Prime Minister Backtracks on Gary McKinnon's Extradition Case

Stopping the extradition of Gary McKinnon to the U.S. may not be within the Government's power, Nick Clegg suggested yesterday.

The comment - his first intervention in the case since becoming Deputy Prime Minister - surprised supporters of the 44-year-old computer hacker because it was completely at odds with Mr Clegg's previously stated position.

Earlier this year David Cameron the Conservative MP who is now the UK Prime Minister was asked a question about UFO secrecy. Broadcaster and campaigner Richard D. Hall attended a Cameron Direct event in January 2009 which was one of a series of public meetings broadcast live on the internet. The leader of the UK new coalition government gave a perfectly clear guarantee that as Prime Minister his UK government would have a policy of complete openness on the issue of whether extra-terrestrial life exists and on whether we are being visiting.

With the new coalition UK government we have a partnership that hasn't been seen in British politics since the early 20th century. At its top we have the Conservative Prime Minister David Cameron and the Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg who is the leader of the Liberal Democrat party.

The 43-year-old’s family expects confirmation from the new Government within days that the decision to send Gary to the USA has been overturned.

Mr McKinnon, who has Asperger’s syndrome, has been accused of causing widespread damage by hacking into Pentagon and Nasa computers in 2001 and 2002. American officials have insisted the “cyber terrorist” should be extradited to the US where he could face up to 60 years in prison.

BBC interview with Gary McKinnon's mother avoids the exopolitical issue

In this BBC interview with Gary McKinnon's mother Janis Sharp she explains why she is hopeful that the new UK Parliament will keep their promises and reverse the decision to extradite Gary.

This BBC coverage is yet another example of coverage of the case which completely avoids exopolitical issues and doesn't even associate the story with UFOs. How would this case been seen in a post-disclosure world? David Griffin will be discussing this in his lecture Exopolitics, Gary McKinnon and the Secret Space Program on August 7th.

Elections 2010: Mother of Gary McKinnon to stand in the UK Parliamentary Elections

Gary McKinnon and his mother Janis Sharp

The mother of computer hacker Gary McKinnon is to stand in the UK Parliamentary Elections in Blackburn, Lancashire. Janis Sharp will stand in the constituency that is currently held by a man who is using anti-terror legislation to extradite her son to the United States - the UK Secretary of Justice Jack Straw MP.

Janis is standing on the issue of declining civil liberties in the UK - an issue which affects everyone in the UK but more visibly her son Gary.

She chose Blackburn because it is the Parliamentary seat of Jack Straw MP who...

David Griffin: Exopolitics, Gary McKinnon and the Secret Space Program

In 2002, an amateur London hacker was arrested by the then Hi Tech National Crimes Unit on the instruction of US authorities. It was alleged that Gary McKinnon had penetrated secure networks belonging to NASA, The Pentagon and others. As a result the US Justice Department became intent on making him face trial and a possible 70 year jail term to be served in America. What contributed to the zealous determination of an embarrassed military industrial complex was what McKinnon claimed he found during his months browsing the networks. His testimony backed up what many have suggested in recent years - that there exists a totally separate, highly advanced space program employing exotic energy systems and possibly back-engineered technology from ET sources.
